Local currency

In Mexico, the legal currency is the Mexican peso ($Mx).

Its minimum division is the centavo (it is not in circulation).

It has coins with denominations of 50 cents, 1, 2, 5, 10, and 20 pesos (the latter are commemorative, circulating and collectible).

It has bills of 20, 50, 100, 200, and 500 pesos, there are bills of 1000 (one thousand) pesos, but they are rarely used commercially.

Pesos can be exchanged at banks, exchange agencies, and sometimes at the reception desk of hotels. We suggest not to change large amounts for security reasons.

The exchange rate is variable depending on the international economy.

You can bring in different forms of currency up to 10,000 USD without having to make a customs declaration.

The exchange can also be made using the automatic teller machines (cashiers), which are within the international ATM network.

There are bank branches of several international banks such as CITY, BBVA, HSBC, SANTANDER and SCOTIABANK.

Apparel.

Due to the humid tropical climate, most social activities take place during the afternoon and evening.

Clothing is casual in almost all meetings, and for more formal occasions, guayaberas and loose-fitting cotton or linen clothing are recommended.

The guayabera is a formal or everyday dress shirt with long or short sleeves and several stores in Villahermosa sell them in a variety of textiles, sizes, and models at very affordable prices.

Two- or three-piece suits with ties are rare.
